Moments

This series has been developing since 2004.  When I create these pieces, they become snapshots of the moment in which they are being created.  I freeze that moment. 

However, like a Rorschach test, each piece

becomes something else to the individuals who experience them.

The inaugural installation of this series, "Moment of Choice" was for my BFA thesis exhibition at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. That work later was honored as the sole recipient of the Rickert-Zeibold Trust Award.  It later traveled to Portland, OR as part of Emerge 2008, where it was awarded the Academic Award by Bullseye Glass.  Since I have made it a practice to make a set of these "growths" once a year.
